For Metro of Issue 1, Layla Ahmed B’27, Arman Deendar B’25, and Talia Reiss B’27 expose the explicit links between members of the Brown Corporation and environmental destruction, enslaved labor, and Israel’s genocide against Gaza. All the while, the Corporation stifled community input and evaded transparency in deciding not to divest from social harm in Palestine.
“Amid UCS’s calls for the democratization of University governance, it is imperative to understand who currently serves on the Corporation. Unsurprisingly, many of the Corporation members are billionaires or come from families with billions in accumulated wealth … For many, their personal wealth is directly tied to Israel’s occupation of Palestine and the ongoing genocide in Gaza.”

Unbeknownst to many, he was the first Latino to run for president and the true mastermind behind Nixon’s 1972 victory.”
